Beauty wonders and horrors. Place to share your experience.
Before the show I see my friend Kira walking in to the backstage, where we get our makeup and hair done. I look at her face and I can’t believe my eyes. Ok, now I can go back, and change the title to: “Kira’s skin disaster”. You see, normally, I am a very polite person, but I failed to stop myself the moment I saw her. It was “Oh my God” situation with that eyebrows-raised-face full of sympathy. Poor girl had red and uneven face with huge breakouts, some yellow spots, and eyes with tears ready to come out. Although tears were not primary caused by Clinique’s 3 steps skincare everything else was. And this is an hour before the show…
After some research I found that:
So the true steps here are steps to irritation, redness and breakouts.
The ad says:
“Can great skin be created? With Clinique’s 3-Step Skin Care System, the answer is yes. The simple process—only 3 products, for 3 minutes, twice a day—gets any skin clear, radiant, and glowing, in about two weeks.”
ATTETION CLASS! We have a guest speaker today:
I worked for Clinique for a few months. The 3 step is the worst skincare system on the market. Seriously, the soaps are literally soap, which is so inappropriate for the skin! The toner has so much alcohol in it that it reminds me of my early binge drinking years in college (ya know, when you drink McCormick’s vodka?) And on to the lotion…might as well let it dry out and stick a wick in it. At least it would be useful as a candle. In all seriousness, they taught me at Clinique school that the soap will not remove makeup, so a separate “makeup remover” with the soap was necessary to completely cleanse the skin. By the time I cleansed my skin twice, it was RAW. They also told us the Dramatically Different moisturizer was not enough. So we had to recommend using an anti-aging moisturizer on top of that! Well, ladies, that takes us to FIVE STEPS!
Kira-victim says:
Step 1: I found that the soap left my skin with a taut feeling and dry patches of skin. The dish goes all gooey after a while and I started to find hard lumps in the soap which I think were probably from the soap being exposed to water then left to dry out.
Step2: After two weeks of using it I had a red blotchy face where my skin had become sore and irritated from the soap and lotion combined, and I had broken out into spots all over my face, I’m not talking small pimples here, I’m talking boil like spots that hurt when I moved my face. I can honestly say that I’ve never had spots as bad as now.
Step3: It just seems to sit on my skin and not sink in, and doesn’t leave a great base for makeup, especially powder, as it just clung to the lotion that hadn’t been absorbed into my skin.
I heard, with most products, you have to give them a few days so that your skin can adjust, so I continued using it for 2 weeks, by that time it looked like I had a severe STD and my nose is just about to fall down.
“The first day or two things were ok, but now when I put Step 2 on, my skin BURNS and my face gets red. The moisturizer does make it feel better, but my skin’s texture is sort of bumpy. I don’t have sensitive skin and have never had an allergic reaction to a skincare product.”
“The first 2 days I thought it was lovely and I enjoyed the novelty of the 3 steps. On to day 3 and I realized I was starting to break out in spots. After 2 weeks I repeatedly had little yellow spots around chin/t-zone, which although not major were a pest. I stopped using it after I found the skincare that was more suitable.”
“The first few days were horrific, the liquid soap, the mild one, dried my skin out and the toner, clarifying lotion (the purple one) stung. I had no improvement after a week of using this, in fact I started to notice patches of dry, flaky, red skin where it was upsetting my eczema.”
“These products made dry flaky patches around my nose that would start to peel and become red and sore. It took 2 weeks after I stopped using the products for my skin to go back to normal.”
“The moisturizer broke me out, smells terrible, feels terrible, the toner stings, smells like Vodka, and did NOT remove residual traces of makeup, the soap, dried out my skin, making it flakey and tight.”

The Clinique 3 step system is specially formulated for the face. It is not just soap. It balances your natural water and oil. If you had the wrong outcome, it maybe because you didn’t get the right products for your personal skin type. The whole system is allergy tested to prevent anyone from having a reaction. Many people, including myself, find Clinique’s 3 step to be the very best thing for them.

Dear Consult, you just said something Clinique’s representative would say, but in reality Clinique so called “allergy tested” skincare proven to give some terrible allergic reactions. Hmm, go figure what it was tested on!

I have never, and I mean never, broke out with anything - I do not have sensitive skin. I have never used anything on my face before besides over the counter stuff. For Mother’s Day this year my husband takes me to the Clinique counter and gets me all the stuff that the lady said that I needed. I got the 3-step cleansers, the gel face wash, the repair wear eye cream, and another moisurizer that she said that I needed.
The first night, everything seemed fine. The second night the eye cream tingled when I put it on. I have never used this stuff before so I didn’t know if it was supoose to tingle or not. The third night the eye cream tingled and burned when I put it on. I desided that I was not going to use the eye cream anymore. THe next morning, I wake up and my eyes were red and were almost swollen shut. The redness and the pain went from right below my eyebrow to the bone right below my eyesocket. Exactly were I applied the eyecream. It is not like an allergic reaction - it is a burn. That eyecream burnt my skin and my eyes - my eyeballs were blood-shot red and were dry and itchy.
I thought this stuff was suppose to be good for your skin!!!!

Years ago I bought Clinique’s 3-Step Skin Care System and the next day my face was covered in red blotches and tiny red spots. I immediately spot using any of their products. I’ve always had a perfect skin that my friends and family envied. A couple of years later I became friends with a proffesional make up artist. She use to work for The Bold and the Beautiful. When I met her she was 39 and had the face of a 28 year old!!! Beautiful woman! I asked her about skin products and she absolutely recommended Bobbi Brown because compared to the $300 and up products Bobbi Brown’s had the same ingredients. I wasn’t no time in taking her recommendations. Now people ask me all time what type of skin care products I use. They love my skin and more important I LOVE IT TOO!!!

I do not have reactive skin. I have never had an allergic reaction to ANYTHIN until i used Clinique. i went out and bought their all about eyes cream and their anti redness cream. On the second day of use my skin over my nose, cheeks and around my eyes including my eyelids, felt buring hot. This continued to get worse and developed small red lumps across my skin which looked live hives or server heat rash. The following day the skin directly underneath my eye swole up like i had been crying (i hadnt). I went to the doctors who advised it was a contact dermatitas. I have been given 1% hydrocortisone cream and some very strong anti histames. I have been to Clinique to show them what their creams have done to my complexion. The person behind the counter continued to ensure me the cream was 100% allergy free and was tested on 600 women!! Clearly Clinique not only are misleading when selling their products they are incapable of taking ownershop of a problem which they caused! NEVR USE AGAIN!!!!

Hiya, Ive noticed myself that after using the 3 step cleaning system that my skin started to burn but put it back to that I just had a Baby…… I just went back to Germany to visit my Family and spoke to my Brothers Girlfriend who works as a beauitician in big Perfume store and she told me that they have more and more customers coming in complaining about Clinique (Why should she lie to me?) as I only mentioned that Ive got problems……. So I agree with Marcia that Clinique is missleading customers as I have got excma and my skin is very sensitive and it cant be allergy free if somany people are reporting problems!

Hey, guys! I feel relieved that it’s just not me who had an allergic reaction to Clinique’s products.
I have used the 3-step system for about 18 months now, and was quite pleased with the effects. (although I know what you mean about Step 2’s high alcohol content). I have never had any allergic reaction or sensitive skin.
2 months ago I purchased the Superdefense moisturizer, as well as a their night cream, using it in conjunction with the 3 Step system. Within 1,5 months I got a red, burning, itching rash in my neck and the skin on my face started becoming flaky. Thinking it’s just South Africa’s dry winter conditions, I put on even more superdefense, as it’s a moisturizer. Shortly thereafter I woke up with a red, blotchy, coarse, itching, burning neck and face, with the skin around my eyes turning reddish-purple and swollen!
I immediately went to the pharmacy, received a cortison-based anti-allergy cream and anti-allergy pills, and haven’t used any of their products since. Only Vitamine E cream for me, thanks!
Such a waste of money on these expensive products!

I never had any problem on my skin and its not sensitive skin type. I used clinique because i had dry skin on that time and the previous product i used was LOREAL mousse anti-aging which is the best product for me. I stop using Loreal because its seems so hard to find everywhere..then i make a conclusion maybe the product is dicontinued. After 3 times only i used 3 steps system, (Clinique products). all about eyes rich and their sunscreen cream which cost me $196, i got this problem. When i woke up the next day,the skin directly underneath my eye swole up like i had been crying all the day (like i’m crying a lot but i hadn’t) and i got ithcy and redness on my skin. This continued to get worse during the day and developed small red lumps across my skin which looked live hives or server heat rash..I stop using the product and the next day again my skin over my nose, cheeks and around my eyes including my eyelids, felt buring hot. and my whole face swollen as well. I feel TERRIBLE!!! does anyone knows when will i get my face back to normal? Please help me…

I got the 3 step system and the first day was fine, but the second day I two red and itchy spots near my eyes, i thought i had just fallen asleep on a wired stop. That was not the case the next day i had another spot and was VERY itchy and puffy and red. After reading the comments here i new that the 3 step system is not RIGHT for ANYONE to use. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM CLINIQUE!

I bought Clinque’s supermoisture foundation and night cream about 3 months ago (after the birth of my son). Within 2 weeks I found my eyelids were swollen and the skin underneath my eyes became red, itchy and flaky. Every morning I would wake up to red puffy, irritated eyes. I thought perhaps it was my body reacting to the hormonal change after the pregnancy. It wasn’t. I have used Clinque years ago and never had this problem. The moment i put on the makeup my skin itches, within hours it’s starts to turn red around my eyes. I refused to use their mascara as who knows what would have happened. Doctor just prescribed a steriod ointment to clear it up. Never again will I buy this product. I will go back to using Lancome.

I wish I had read these posts before I purchased clinique just over three weeks ago. I’ve never had a problem with my skin, however at the moment, post use of clinique my skin has NEVER looked SOOOOOO bad.
I stupidly persisted using the 3-step skin regime for three weeks thinking that my skin would be perfect after using it, - I was certainly wrong. Once I started using clinique I noticed that my skin would look worse than what it did the day before, but persisted in the hope that my skin would clear up. After 3 weeks it never did, and now I look like I have an acne problem.
I have never felt so embarassed to go out in public, as my skin is a complete disaster. I have literally broken out in pimples all over my face and have horrible uneven skin tone.
The clinque sales representatives are useless and don’t have any clue regarding the products they sell you, as when I went back to obtain a refund I was informed that my breakouts were normal after using the product! What a joke, no woman’s skin should look anything like mine currently after using it for 3 weeks.
The worst part of the whole experience is that I had never had a problem with my skin in the first place and could have avoided all of this if I had really known how bad clinque is for your skin!
I would seriously advise against using this product under any circumstance.

Truthfully, I think it is incedibly unfair to judge just this brand. There are many brands out there that are much worse. I have been using Clinique for two years and I absolutely love it. The only thing I can think of is that you got the wrong products for your skin. Keep in mind that Clinique was developed by a dermatologist so it has to be good for skin….just not everyone’s skin obviously but NO brand is good for everyone. Different things work for different people.

i worked for clinique briefly in college. i quickly learned to abhor the 3-step program. when i attended the regional training i spoke to the instructor about my concerns. specifically my dry patches got so dry they turned into excema ( a condition i suffer from but was under control on my face til i started using 3-step) and my oily areas were covered in acne. i figured out a process that worked for me but wasn’t consistent with clinique’s system. i used the gentle soap, the clarifying lotion number 3 and any moisturizer but clinique. i was constantly reprimanded for suggesting my customers not use all three products they way clinique insists. i encouraged my clients to mix and match. my skin looked great and so did my clients but the higher-ups were not amused. eventually i was fired. i had been in a car accident and couldn’t make it to work. i think it was an excuse to get rid of me. also the men’s system is exactly the same as the women’s only cheaper.

I have acne, not bad but mild and i didn’t get this product but did get the Acne Solutions Cleansing Foam and i love it i really do i used it all the time and my skin looked better. The only thing it didn’t do was prevent breakouts around my period. Also my friend’s family they swear by clinique. They have so many products from there.

Personally, the Clinique 3 step system works great for me. Its too bad so many people have had such bad reactions to it. I was having a lot of problems with my skin while pregnant with my first child, so I decided to try it and within a few days all the problems I was having with break outs and blotches had completely cleared up. I agree though that its terrible so many people have such bad experiences with the products! Luckily there are many products for people to choose from so that they can find what works best for them!

Hi everyone, I also reacted to Clinique products (moisturiser, concealler or foundation) a few people having been saying that maybe the clinique products were used incorrectly and that this is what caused the allergic reaction. Which is simply not true- the products caused the reaction - not the user. Also beware of terms like “allergy tested”, “dematologist tested’, hypo allergenic” and “fragrance free”. If you do some research you will find that all products have to be allergy/dermatologist tested before they are released to the market. there is no international standard for a products sensitivity to skin - so hypoallergenic is not legally binding. Fragrance free, simply means that they used a fragrance that had another use in the product. Buyer Beware.

I started using Clinique 3 step at the same time with Estee Lauder Lauder Advanced Night Repair Protective Recovery Complex and now I have these annoying breakouts on my forehead, especially in the area between eyebrows. Don’t know which one is causing breakouts, but I threw Clinique in the trash, couldn’t do it with the other one, though…LOL!!!

i really thought this wass the best stuff to use because of all the good things said about it, i wish i had looked into it abit more before i spent a loot of money at xmas, i was told i had very mild rosaeca so i bought the redness range, well ive been using it for a month now and lets say my face looks like ive had a chemical peel! my face is ruined, and i can not be seen in public without makeup which is also clinique foundation. the more i used it the worse its got, i know i should of stopped, but i never thought in a million years it was the clinique stuff that was making it worse, it just never clicked, ive got advice tonight and im going to start using dermalogica, and guess whats going onto ebay tomorrow!!

I can’t believe how much people are slaggin off clinique products. I myself have been using the 3 step skin care for 2 years now and it works brilliantly for me. Before this my skin was really dry and now it’s better than i ever thought it would be! All i can say about those who have had problems with it is you probably used the wrong types for your skin. It is important you ask for advice before buying any of the 3 step skin care products.

I have been using the 3-step system for type two skin for over a year and I LOVE IT!! I have always had a breakout or two and my skin didn’t have a healthy glow and now I am breakout free and my skin looks AWESOME. I get complimented on my beautiful skin ALL THE TIME. I love ordering from their online site and combining codes to get cool freebies. I LOVE clinique! If it didn’t work for you, move on and get over it. But, why act like their products dont’ work just because YOUR skin reacted badly!
Have a great day!!

I had the same thing happen to me! I used it because my skin was very oily and I had the occassional breakout but I stuck with that stuff for two whole months and my skin was horrid. It became dry and itchy, and I had some cystic pimples and I was completely broken out all over my forhead. It was really bad. I had to stop and it wouldn’t go away so I started using Proactiv. That really helped me a lot. I will never use Clinique again. Everytime I pass by the Clinique counter and they ask me if I want to see their skin care line, I cringe. lol

Why can’t the Clinique fans just accept not everyone’s skin reacts the same way? Clinique products contain a lot of ingredients that cause allergic reactions in many people. If you’re not one of them, good for you! Don’t attack people for having allergies as “slagging off Clinique.” I had a full consultation with the Clinique lady which included a lot of questions about my skin, and got the products recommended for my skin type. The next day my normally fine skin was broken out in spots and my skin was flaking off so badly I looked like a leper. I persisted with it for a few days but physically couldn’t use it because it burned me so badly. It took a lot of time and effort to repair the damage Clinique caused.

I totally agree with all those horror stories. I was using Proactiv and decided to change over to Clinique as i wanted to try something different. Big Mistake! My clear skin broke out in the worst possible way. I had massive pimples that looked like they were so big you would’ve thought they have combined to make these mountains. Anyways after reading those posts, i’m heading back to Proactiv. Never Again Clinique..

I’ve been to a doctor about a rash type dryness each the side of my face, and was given antibiotic and hydrocortisone for 2 months. Not much improvement. It’s as if a whiter pigment has developed in my upper cheek bones. After reading all these messages, I wonder if it’s the CLINIQUE almost makeup teint naturel parfait that I’ve been using for the past year. That’s how long I’ve had the rash…. coincidence?!? Still no solution for my problem and am waiting to see a dermotologist next. Anybody else out there got these symptoms?

Hello to: Jane and everyone else whose face has been scared by CLINIQUE products! I too have fell victim to Cliniques subliminal marketing torch which has left my skin locked up in an insane asylum screaming “HELP”. My experience with Clinique products started 7 years ago. I washed with the soap, toned with the clarifying lotion and hydrated with Clinique’s infamous Dramatically Different Moisturizer. After using the products everday for a week…I developed my first contact dermatitis flare up…I was 23. I visited a dermatologist who followed the Dermatology school book…which EVERY DERM follows…and prescribed both a topical and oral steroid and suggested I avoid Clinique products…Dah!
After reading the possible side effects including: •Skin thinning (atrophy) and stretch marks (striae).
•Easy bruising and tearing of the skin.
•Perioral dermatitis (rash around the mouth).
•Enlarged blood vessels (telangiectasia).
•Susceptibility to skin infections.
•Disguising infection e.g. tinea incognito.
•Allergy to the steroid cream.
I decided not to take the steroids…I already was experiencing something frightening…I didn’t want to risk something worse.
A few days after I stopped using Clinique I developed a horrific facial BURN! OMG I have never in my LIFE experienced ANYTHING like it…and I have been FRIED many times by the sun. Nothing I put on my skin helped extinguish the angry flame. I wanted NOTHING more than to end my life. This facial burn lasted over a year. Every morning and every night I held my tears…for my tears felt like steam rolling down my face. I couldn’t put ANYTHING on it, which was challenging considering I was going to Broadcasting school in hopes to become an on air reporter, which requires you to wear a lot of makeup on camera. I also was working as the Director of Communications for a non-for-profit where I had to interact with politicians, corporate leaders and act as the foundation’s public spokesperson….and of course, I had to hide the pain. I never WORE makeup (powder, foundation, eye shadow) prior to this…I had to cover Clinque’s scars….it truly was torture.
I was experiencing complete misery and loss of hope for NO doctor, including derms, internists, allergists, neurologists, Chinese Medicine doctors, dentists or orthodontists had an answer or was willing to help…I took it upon myself to research, experiment and diagnose. I should mention I also started developing allergies to food, including peanuts and diary and MANY skin care ingredients, including fragrances, aloe, botanical oils, etc… I changed my diet, drank more water, green tea and chamomile tea. I started meditating and began praying EVERY DAY to Mary (did the Rosary, which I never did before) and to St. Jude, the patron saint of lost hope. I went to church after work just to sit in the pews and pray. I didn’t know what was happening to me or why it was happening. I also avoided being in the sun, which was tragic for I use to be a sun Goddess, I loved to tan, I loved the heat, I loved being in the pool, I loved summer…Sadly, I no longer do.
It took over a year for the facial burn to subside. Though the constant burn is not with me everyday…its aftermath is…I now have broken capillaries (which I never had), hypersensitive and dry skin along with rosaeca.
I now can at least smile and laugh without cracking my face…but when I look at my face w/out makeup there is nothing for me to smile about. I was able to find a product that worked for me five years ago…Olay 7 effects fragrance free…that is until Olay changed the formula last year. I now am on a mission to find something that won’t awake the beast. My life is consumed with researching every second of every day products that will soothe the dragon that sleeps inside and alleviate my fear. I know it’s still there I feel it breathing everytime I am forced to experiment with a new product that causes irritation. I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my dream of acting and writing…I now just focus on writing for all the make-up involved with being an actor does not work in harmony with my now fragile skin. I have a fiance who absolutely adores me and I him….I fear I will not find a solution by our wedding day, which is next year. Clinique products peeled off my skin and exposed it to a world full of allergens. I am assuming I had an extreme chemical burn which broke down my skin’s ability to stay strong, fight and protect me from harm…but then again maybe it helped me stay clear from developing other severe problems, like cancer, by staying away from products that are toxic (which most are) even if they are approved by the FDA.
From my research it seems that contact dermatitis and negative reactions to skin care products is becoming an epidemic….there are SO many people, especially girls/women who are applying chemicals to their faces in hopes for a miracle (that skin care company’s falsely guarantee through attractive and incisive marketing), to get rid of wrinkles, acne, redness, dryness, oiliness, etc but instead receive the opposite of a miracle….something way worse.
I would love to start a petition,

I would love to start a petition for anyone who has had a terrible reaction to a particular skincare product….starting with Clinique…and ADVOCATE that something be done about this. Not all products are approved by the FDA, and even products approved by the FDA they too can be extremely harmful and toxic. Research for instance, Kinerase, write down all the ingredients and then research each one thoroughly…you will find mostly every single ingredient if used over time or too much is applied will cause serious side effects, including blindness and even death. What most people don’t know is that our skin is our largest organ…it has pores and what ever is applied directly onto those pores seeps inside…into our body…that’s why many will say “If you can’t eat it don’t apply it”. Don’t be fooled by what you can not see….we have a heavy duty engine inside that our skin protects…if you apply toxins on your skin it will effect your engines ability to operate.
The FDA approves Botox in moderation…WHY? It’s toxic!!! It blows my mind that people are injecting this into there body to preserve their outside appearance…Well, guess what outside appearance does not matter when your 6 feet under ground! Botox blocks the body’s natural nerve impulses causing them to relax…”in rare cases the toxin can spread beyond the injection site to other parts of the body, paralyzing or weakening the muscles used for breathing and swallowing, a potentially fatal side effect”, the FDA said.
In rare cases, Clinique products can cause chemical burns leading to severe facial burning that lasts for over a year. It also causes hypersensitive skin over time and if undiagnosed and mis-treated will lead to broken capillaries and rosacea.
Wikipedia:
Botulism (Latin, botulus, “sausage”) also known as botulinus intoxication is a rare but serious paralytic illness caused by Botulinum toxin, which is produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. The toxin enters the body in one of four ways: by colonization of the digestive tract by the bacterium in children (infant botulism) or adults (adult intestinal toxemia), by ingestion of toxin from foodstuffs (foodborne botulism) or by contamination of a wound by the bacterium (wound botulism).[1] All forms lead to paralysis that typically starts with the muscles of the face and then spreads towards the limbs.[1] In severe forms, it leads to paralysis of the breathing muscles and causes respiratory failure. In view of this life-threatening complication, all suspected cases of botulism are treated as medical emergencies, and public health officials are usually involved to prevent further cases from the same source.[1]
This is just one ingredient I am posting that is found in mostly every skin and hair care product: (there ARE SO MANY others that are even more harmful…Please EVERYONE research for yourself…Try to avoid what could ruin your life…Be Smart.)
Alcohol is a petroleum based fat solvent, so ironically it can dry your skin and hair - the very thing we DON’T want it to do! Another irony - it’s a free radical, yet is often used in antioxidant preparations that ’supposedly’ combat free radicals.
It’s quite toxic to the human body and some of its side effects are: a higher risk of cancer, headache, dizziness, mental depression, nausea, vomiting, coughing, wheezing, abdominal pain, mental depression, hallucinations, narcosis and even coma. Penetrating your skin is easy for alcohol and in the body it destroys our beneficial intestinal flora, which makes it easier for parasites to take up residence in our body. Many people are highly allergic. It can pass through the brain barrier and cause symptoms of ADD and dyslexia.
Alcohol is widely used not only in cosmetics but also shampoos, shaving products, waterless hand cleaners, mouthwash (25-30%), and in the preparation of bottled water, white sugar, carbonated drinks, and decaf coffee. It’s also widely used in shellac, antifreeze and other such chemicals. It is an industrial “byproduct”, which is translated as “waste”. This is deadly stuff!
Alcohol has been used in the following product types: hair color and bleaching (1317); facial moisturizer/treatment (638); moisturizer (600); conditioner (586); anti-aging (366); sunscreen spf 15 and above (312); facial cleanser (174); hand cream (124); styling gel/lotion (103); exfoliant/scrub (98). A few products containing alochols are:
* The Body Shop Aloe Soothing Day Cream
* Curel Ultra Healing Moisturizing Lotion
* Clinique Repairwear Intensive Night Cream
* Aveeno Moisturizing Bar with Natural Colloidal Oatmeal
* Weleda Rosemary Conditioner
Lets help each other! There is hope for all skin care disorders….we just need to band together to find it!
Cheers,

Ciprina, I was amazed after reading your comment! I am very sorry you had to go through this! I couldn’t imaging the damage could be THAT serious! I really feel for you, but I am sure that the person as strong as you are, will be very successful in the career that you have chosen! I really honestly wish that you get well and get you beautiful skin back!
Girls, watch out! When I was writing my original post I didn’t think that Clinique ruined face of so many…

I have been using the Clinique Medical line, and now have had massive breakouts on my skin, where I’ve NEVER had an issue with break outs before.
I’ve stopped using the Probiotic Cleanser, and am waiting for my normal skin to return!
An Anesitician told me that it was the “impurities” coming out, and that it would all go back to normal once I got everything out.
But I don’t wear foundation, so just what is clogging my pores so badly that I’ve had my entire forehead break out like I was 16 again? Granted in my teenager years, I think I had a TOTAL of 7-10 zits. I have always had awesome skin.
This has made me want to stay in, and not show my face anywhere.
Has anyone else seen or heard of anyone having the same type of reaction from the Medical line?
Please help, I can’t find anything anywhere.

I have used Clinique for thirty years and never had any issues until recently. I am wondering if they have changed some of their formulas? I have been having a terrible problem with rashes under my eyes and incredible itching. I am only using the Stay True foundation at this point, but I start feeling the itch after I apply the foundation. I can no longer wear my contact lenses. I have always loved this foundation, and I can’t find any info on the ingredients anyplace. I can’t understand why this has only become a problem in recent years. Perhaps they manufacture their products somewhere other than the US, but they seem to indicate the US. Does anyone know of a foundation that doesn’t cause reactions. I am getting tired of the itchy eyes and I have tried just about everything to get rid of them. I have been to the eye doctor and dermatologist. I don’t want to continue to use antibiotics and steroids on my eyes inderfinitely. Any suggestions?

I really really wish I had googled “Clinique burned face” before I used their 3-Step system Friday night. My face has what is compared to a terrible burn. I’ve been using the Clinique makeup for about a month now and was/am very happy with it. I just kept forgetting the little sample of the 3-Step skin care the clerk gave me. Well Friday night I finally remembered it and used it after removing my make up.
OMG I wish I could go back and forget again. The first step of the soap went ok but the step 2 was like torture just a few minutes after applying it. My face started burning and turned a bright red. It was at bedtime so the next morning I realized just how terrible it really was.
My face was still a very bright red and was burning and swollen. It felt so dry to the touch and also had a very tight feeling to it. I’ve tried everything I can think of on it so far. It’s not quite as swollen now after a couple of days but it’s still very red and just feels like a terrible burn. My husband felt of it as well and said it felt so dry it was like feeling of leather.
After reading the other posts here I’m thinking maybe a doctors visit would be a good idea.

Connie, did the redness and burning go away by now? If not, I recommend a visit to a doctor=(

No it’s still here. I keep slathering it with Eucerin Redness Relief, which is making it feel a bit better but it’s still here. I can’t even think about putting makeup on over this, so I’ll just go to work today without and let my coworkers think I had a great outdoor weekend! :o)
It just feels awful, like leather and is so tight. I’m staying positive though because I know it could be so much worse.

ladies!
the other night i stayed at a friends house after a party and forgot to bring anything to remove my makeup! her mum had some clinique toner so i used it…
i immediately felt it burning and tried to wash it off with water and i thought nothing more of it.
low and behold the next day my face started to get a bit itchy but i ignored it. the next day i woke up with red, swollen, itchy, flaky, dry and ultimately burnt skin under my eyes.
it progressivly spread all accross my face and now my skin has gone from being the one aspect that i get complimented daily on to being disgusting. its still itchy, its got millions of little bumps and its just horrible.
dont know what to do? any suggestions would be appreciated!!
(havent been to the doctor yet..)
am glad i am not the only one who has experienced this!
i live in australia so some of our other products are a little different- i am using cetaphil and also this natural cream called “medi-honey” which is for like dry, ezcema skin, rashes etc. also used aloe-vera under my eyes when they were burnt and that helped!

I have used Clinque eyeshadow for a couple of years and all of the sudden I developed a severe allergy to it. I woke up one morning and couldn’t hardly open my eyes. They were so swollen. I am not sure what kind of products are in the eyeshadows. It has been 7 days and I am still trying to recover from the allergic reaction. My eyelids are raw and flaky, also swollen in the morning. It is almost like several layers of skin were burned off. I would be very cautious with their products. I am a fair hair and skin person, so my skin is sensitive.

Hi I purchased Clinquie 3 step cleanse programme along with there superdefencse moisturiser 9th July and started to us it right away. Just after this I started to have problems with my neck becoiming red and itchy, but as Clinique advertie allergy tested I thought it cant be that so looked at other things such as perfume, swimming (?allergy to chlorine) the flithy condition of a house I visit to bath an elderly person and finally wen to the doctor who gave me stong antihistamines, On 5th September I bought some clinqiue eyeshadow, more wash, lipstick and wore the eyeshadow on Sunday ~ Got home and wahed ot off and since then my eye lids have been burning and feel swollen, infact you can see the inflamation where the eye shadow was ~ I have now stopped using all products and my neck, face feel better but I am still worried about my eyes. I have also emailed clinquie and am currently awaiting a response which I have been advised will be today. I also go to egypt in 3 weks time and hope my eyes are better then as when the sun shone on my neck area and into my eyes yesterday it was very sore.

Val, could you please let us all know what Clinique support responds.
Maui, I don’t think I have an authority to suggest anything here. I guess seeing a doctor will not harm at all though!

I was excited to get a free sample of the acne line from clinique to try it out last week with some products I got from sephora. I tried out the 3 step program a couple days ago. The first morning I didn’t notice anything wrong with my skin. The second morning I woke up and right away felt my skin all itchy and bumpy. I go to look in the mirror and was horrified by what my skin looked like. Millions of tiny raised bumps… red, and itchy. I’m no stranger to hives and througly believe this is what I have on my face. I’ve gotten many reactions to detergentents like Tide on my chest and back. So I have learned to stay away… looks like I’ll be staying clear of clinique products! I think with all the responses this has generated… we should try to get a class action lawsuit going against clinique for damaging our skin! Today is day two, I hope this ends soon. I have played around with a few things… cold water and oatmeal seem to help. If you make a paste of some plain oatmeal with a little cold water and apply it to the effected area it releaves the itching and burning somewhat…

I contacted Clinique and told them about my experience as I submitted above. A few weeks later I did receive in my snail mail quite a bit of paper work asking about my face and for a copy of my doctor bill so I could receive a payment for this. I was very surprised with Clinique doing this. They really gave me good customer support after this ordeal.

I wish I had read this before parting with my hard-earned cash!I hank you for all your messages. I am experiencing exactly the same reactions as everyone above after using the toner number 2 + super defence moisturiser - my face feels like it has been burned and is itching like mad.
I feel cheated and I can’t believe they are marketing their product as 100% allergy tested.

I worked at clinique for two years until i was done school, about a year ago. I have never had any issues with clients who have seen bad results. Allergy tested means it goes through thorough skin applications, about 1200 altogether and of anyone has a reaction it must be reformulated. Most other brands are just hypoalergenic which means if it leaves one common ingredient that people are allergic to out of the product it can be called so. The clarifying lotion contains cosmetics grade alcohol, SD 40 which is the same as all other brands unless it is specifically alcohol free. My conclusion to those who have used the clarifying lotion is tht you recorved the wrong one. The woman who used her friends mom should not have done that. You wouldn’t use her mascara or liptick right? So don’t use skincare recommended to someone else as evernyone’s skin is different. The reason why clinique was so willing to refund and help the woman out who wrote to them is becuase like MILLIONS of women, they believe in clinique. Although it may not have been right for the few women here, there is a reason why the brand does so well an has so much success and it is becuase for 99% it works. I had a women come to me one day who I would have thought was 40 maybe 50 but only becuase of her grey hair and she was 78. Her secret was 3 step by clinique. So if by taking care of my skin with a product trusted by so many and disliked by only few, I manage to look like this woman did. Then I am happy. I feel bad for those who reacted to clinique. But the succeeds behind clinique leads me to believe it was either the wrong piece of the line for you or that your skin was adjusting to a new regime negatively

I’ve just experienced a similar situation this weekend, having tried the sample of Clarifying Lotion I got from Clinique. Saturday morning I woke and could barely open my eyes, they were dangerously swollen and my face completely distorted. I was unable to put anything on it and despite taking some strong antihistamines I was worse on Sunday. After an emergency trip to the doctor I got steroids which helped the swelling, antihistamines and hydrocortisone cream. My skin still hurts so badly that putting even the slightest bit of hydrocortisone cream on it is like setting fire to my face.
I don’t have sensitive skin and have used Clinique products in the past but never again. 4 days on my skin is still tight red and painful; it is also starting to flake so I look like a leper. I’ve used many differerent cosmetic makes over the years from bargain basement to top of the range, I could never have imagined something could have such an effect so quickly. It will take weeks if not months for my skin to return to normal.

I purchased the cream shadow in cocoa shimmer and supermoisture foundation. I’m not sure if it’s one or the other, or both of them causing my allergic reaction. My eyes are CONSTANTLY red, itchy and swollen. My eyeballs are so bloodshot and sore I can’t even read for longer than 2 mins without hurting so bad! It’s been a week since I’ve worn either, and I’m still suffering! Has anyone else had a problem with cream shadow or supermoisture foundation? I don’t know how to make the redness go away!

for the past 6 weeks I have been suffering with a very strange eye problem which would go away and then return. Under my right eye would be very red, sore, swollen and each time it returned it would go further down my face. This past weekend has been my last breakout and I have now, using a process of elimination put it down to the Clinique Colour Surge eyeshadow duo I bought 6 weeks ago!
I have never used Clinique before having always used Estee Lauder, Clarins, Lancome etc and I am absolutely astounded that a company that has built its reputation on Allergy Free has given me this problem. Working in PR it is important me to look good when with clients, imagine my horror on teh days it flared up and I look like I have been in a boxing ring!
Anyway once this latest outbreakd red, dry sore skin clears up I will go back to my old brands and just through £15 in the bin and hope that it hasn;t caused more long term problems when using other eyeshadows.

hey everyone, ok just a month back i started to use the clinque three step formula and for 2 weeks my skin was picture perfect but later i started to develop these red rashes under my eyes and they started to develop. I woke up one morning with rashes all over my eyes and my eye swollen. After that i went straight to the doctor and she told me that i have an allergic reaction and i need hydrocortisone cream 0.5% and some cold compression after 4 days it started to get better. I went for a follow up for my rashes , they were mostly gone by i had very very dry skin the doctor recommended this cream which caused my skin to flare up again. I stopped but just yesterday i found out that after i used baby oil my dry skin reduced and so did my rashes.. this might help you ladies.. but the bottom line is please do not use clinque products..if you do make sure you test them on your arm for 2 weeks before hand and see if it work..i hope i get my skin back..

Mandy,
“I am absolutely astounded that a company that has built its reputation on Allergy Free has given me this problem.” SO TRUE! How possibly can they advertise allergy-free when there are so many girls suffering!!!! From what I see there is no medicine that can just make the problem disappear. Clinique should be doing something about it!

I have used a light Clinique moisturiser on and off for a number of years. I usually get it at the airport. 4 days ago I went into a chemist and was sold the 3 step system plus an extra anti ageing mosituriser. Twice a day for 2 days I enthusiastically followed the system but third day my skin started to feel itchy and by the evening it had swollen and redenned! Puffed up eyes, the works! I know I wanted a nice glow but this is ridiculous. Right now My skin is sore, red and itching. I have never had problems like this before. I am going to try baby oil to see if that helps. If not I might have to visit the doctor. I spent over £100 on all this and will never use Clinique again!

Clinique is the WORST, and i literally mean the WORST product on sale!!! DO NOT spend money on CLinique. I cannot believe the lying products they’re selling. Fast, run back and return the worthless piece of crap you’ve ever purchased. The company should be closed in a few years. There is absolutely no reason why anyone would purchase a $40+ skin care that leaves your skin dull, rashy, itchy, with pimples, and overall unhappy!!!!

I also used to work for Clinique in my college days. In fact, the first products I was started on as a teen was Clinique. I was an avid 3-Step System user, makeup user and loved it so much that I sold it in college at a nearby mall. Having said that, I am now 30 and after 10 years of not using Clinique (other than the eyebrow pencil and eyeshadows) I decided to use the bar soap from the 3-step system while in New Orleans for Halloween. This is the ONLY item that was used from that line and the ONLY product that was used outside of my normal routine. I washed my face with the soap on Friday night and then again on Saturday night. On Sunday, I woke up to a cluster of pimple-like bumps between my eyebrows. I also had some pain on the left side of my forehead. It was similar to the pain you have with a really deep pimple. The ones that hurt before they pop up. By Monday, I developed four more bumps that were similar to pimples on the left side of my forehead. That part of my forehead also began to burn on this day and itch terribly. By Tuesday my forehead continue to burn, itch and I had red blotches on this same area…which could have been from the itching. The pimple-like bumps looked almost like smaller boils…similar to maybe shingles or hives. To treat these bumps, I put an antibiotic and an anti-itch cream for the itchiness. Now, a month and a half later, I have scars and I blame Clinique for it.
I have always been blessed with GREAT skin. I have NEVER had skin sensitivity issues, and the only thing I can think of is something has changed in the Clinique formula. As I mentioned before I was a longtime user of the 3-Step System less than 10 years ago, so something is going on. I thought it might be that my skin is becoming more sensitive as I get older, but no other products have had this effect on me to this date, so something is going on at Clinique.
I just wanted to share my story. I DO NOT want someone to blast me by saying I didn’t use all the products as they are supposed to, etc. As I mentioned I sold this line myself and even if you didn’t use the toner and moisturizer, you should NOT get this kind of reaction. Obviously, everyone is different and some products one person can use, someone else may not be able to. I do however have a BIG problem with what I was taught as a Clinique Rep and that was to tell my customers that your skin will get worse before it gets better, which is what I told my customers when they came to me with breakouts. I have thrown out all of my eyeshadows since I am now terrified of having further problems.
I am not a person who is overly concerned with my looks, but to go from having perfect skin to having strangers ask me what is wrong with my face is highly upsetting and humiliating and I would not want anyone else to go through this.
On a side note, does anyone have any scar treatment tips? The 6 scars I have from this ordeal are mostly small, but still noticeable since they are new. I do have one large one in between my forehead. It is not a raised scar, but it is almost as if I have dent in my forehead. Skin is not filled in evenly. Thanks!

Thank you for sharing your story! I always say that “this is not a product for me” when after a try I find my skin dry or overly moisturized with greasy feeling, this is the worst that happened if I chose the wrong product, of course I was lucky enough not to try Clinique… It is unbelievable that the product that still sells in the store can ruin your skin leaving you with such serious problems! I wonder if anybody sued them.
As for the scars, I am not an expert, but I think visiting a beauty center and asking them about laser resurfacing and fractional laser therapy would be a good idea.

I bought the 3 step program just yesterday and it is already bothering me. I have been using a sample of the liquid facial soap for a few months, and because it was one of the only things that didn’t upset my sensitive skin, I had to get more when I ran out. Although it had been working for me, it did leave my skin feeling a bit dry, so my mom asked the woman at the Clinique counter if there was any moisturizer that would work for me. She suggested the 3 steps so we paid $60 for it and went home to try it out. Everything seemed fine the first night but when I woke up, I noticed my face had a few faint, red spots around where it had previously been dry (by my nostrils and on my chin), but it was barely noticeable. I used the 3 steps again in the morning and the rash turned to a bright red and spread to my nose and cheeks. I think it was the clarifying lotion that did this, because the soap never bothered me, but I’m not sure if I should keep using the moisturizer too. Clinique offered a full refund if the products don’t work, however, so I can at least get my money back if it continues to bother me. Maybe it’s just my sensitive skin, but I would not recommend this program.

I bought the 3 step acne treatment 2 days ago and started on yesterday morning, I went to church came home and slept for about 4 hours woke up with a itchy, red, swollen face and my eyelids was almost completely shut….my boyfriend really thought I need to see a doctor…so I got up washed my face with just some regular over the counter face soap and put an ice pack on my face, it eventually went down (in about a day)I refuse to leave the house! My eyelids are still swollen…I am about to go back and see if I can get a refund…I would not recommend this product to anyone!

Hey all. Just thought I’de share my story as well. I have great skin, I’m 31 look much younger no wrinkled or anything. I have been using either Mary Kay Tiimewise or Aveeno (when i run out). But I have moved to N. Chicago and the winter was doing a serious dry number on my skin, but its ok becuase I had my Mary Kay Intensive moisturizer which is really thick and kinda of shiny, but I used it at night so it was ok. No sensative skin problems here either, never have broken out from even the cheapest make-up.
One day I was bored and went past the Clinique/Estee Lauder counters and thought I’de try something new that was a little less greasy looking that would help with my dry skin so the lady suggested I use the trail kit 3 step 1 of course, which can with a big 4.2oz mousturizer i thought it was a great deal for $20. First day cool, i read the directions used my aveeno foaming make-up remover and and then the step 1 soap. When i was done in the shower but on the clarifying stuff ( never used toner in my life btw) then the moisturizure, it felt nice and non-sticky or greasy, ok, go to bed. wake-up face is dry, well maybe i didnt use enough. 2nd day some thing, nothing wrong..third day little bumps around my eyes, hmmm, maybe because I was using a new concealer (though I have used it before in the past) 3rd day, bumps are still on the eyes.So I cleaned out all my brushes and even my make-up bag just in case it was some pesky bacteria. Day 4 bumps everywhere even on my eyelids (they look like chicken skin skin, and needless to say, I took all that crap out of my shower and medicine cabinet, returning the kit I got my my neice before she can even use it and it happens to her and using the stuff I know works for me. I bought some avocadoes, honey and olive oil to make my moisturizer and kicking clinique to the curb, these bumps should dissapear soon, I just need to wash my brushed again to make sure that moisturizure is out of them.

I’m 16 years of age and about a week ago I too purchased the infamous 3-step skin care system when I’d heard about an offer, buy the £13 soap, and get samples of the toner and moisturizer free. Good right?
I must say I’m very happy I didn’t buy the products in full sizes. I’ve never had perfect skin, I’m extremely oily and have a few spots now and then, but nothing too worrying and my main area of concern was scars from spots where I used to pick them. I decided to try the 3-step because of the offer but otherwise was pretty happy with my mish-mash of skin care.
I am now extremely worried as I’ve developed spots all around my mouth and my temples. I’m normally extremely oily but I now have trouble opening my mouth without feeling tight and sore. All I want to do is scratch my face continuously. I recently had to go to a party, and burst to tears at the sight of my face with foundation on. It looked blotchy, dry and cake-y. Even my friends looked at me in disbelief. All night long I felt selfconscious and kept my head down.
I’m therefore glad I’m not the only one going through this. My mum has used Clinique all her life, and she has never had any problems so she too is very shocked as to what has happened.
I am now though left with a problem as to what to do to help this. Does anyone have any recommendations of any NATURAL solutions. Home made concotions or masks that I can help relieve the dryness but combat the sore itchy spots.
I have been told to eat a lot of foods rich in iron like spinach, and drink lots of water but still feel tight. I don’t know how I can put foundation on, as I will NOT go into college without it. Please someone help!

Ciprina Spizzirri do you have a hotmail? I would love to talk to you…I have gone through the EXACT same reaction as you I believe and it would be nice to talk to someone else who has.

hey ladies,
ok so i did use the clinque 3 step system around 4 months back cause i heard it did wonders for peoples skin. after 2 weeks it was alright but then i suddenly felt a burning sensation on my face i just thought it will go away if i slept it off.BIG mistake the next day i wake up my eyes were swollen my rashes were all over my face. I went to the doctor and she told me to use hydrocortisone 0.5% on my face with cold compression on my eyes to get rid of the swelling. I noticed in a week it all went away but it kept coming back over the winter break mostly cause of the dust. My face is thankfully back to normal now and better than before i just want everyone to take caution when buying the Clinque three product system especially when using the step two toner.
If you skin is dry use aveeno dry skin baby lotion it worked wonders on me!
i hope this helps

hey just want to say omg!!!…I purchased the 3 step range (starter pack for £46) on 26th January 2010. Thought it was a bit expensive but went ahead with it…first day I was fine but but 3 days later my skin has gone BAD.
I followed the instructions, once in the morning and at night and used nothing else. By day 3 my skin was so icthy, I had red blotches on my face…..I looked as if my skin had been burnt. It was really BAD!!!…I have never had any reaction on my face before.
I still had my receipt and took the products back to the store that I had got them from and got a full refund back!, even the lady who was working there could see that I had a bad reaction to it!!!!
I DEFINATLEY DO NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANY ONE….
The toner no.2 was so harsh on my skin, it was like a burning sensation on my face.

I suffer from oily skin and had wanted to try Clinique for quite a while so I decided to splash out over £100 on the 3 Step and some Clinique make-up (I wish I could go back in time and save my money!!)
I too after a few days started getting dry sore patches of skin and spots. I continued to use the 3 step coz i thought it was just my skin getting used to it - how wrong i was!!
It got worse and worse and i had really sore patches around my nose and chin and just below my cheeks. it was awful! i found it so embarassing and it really knocked my confidence, especially coz my makeup didnt cover it! I stopped using 3 step.
Id sit staring in the mirror just crying my eyes out!! It was awful.
Even a month after stopping using 3 step my skin was still sore. I stopped using any skin care routine and just stuck to washing my face twice a day with Nivea calming milk and water.
I went to Australia over xmas hoping that while i was there the sun would maybe help, it did slightly but i ended up using Cortic-DS on the sore patches and wow! It really worked, my skin is now back to normal and I’m finally confident again!
Now i just carry on using the Nivea calming milk twice a day, no other skin care routine and my skin is happy!! I still suffer from oily skin but to be honest after the disaster with Clinique it doesn’t bother me as much!
Stay clear of Clinique!! What an awful product! I can’t believe so many other people had the same experience! I wish i’d googled it before i wasted my money!!

Ok, my problem is the exact same as smiles14’s. I am 14 with mild acne and i have some ecxema. We went into the Clinique store and we bought what the lady at the desk reccommended. The first day was perfectly fine. I didn’t have any problems. By the second day I had a small red spot on my cheek and my face burned everytime i touched it. I went to my moms work (she is a nurse) and she had told me to throw away ALL of the make-up we had purchased. She also had told me I had an allergic reaction to the product. Thats night she gave me some benedril. The next morning I woke up and my WHOLE face was red and swolen. We went to the doctor immedeitely and they had to give me a steroid shot in my butt. Now while all of this is happening I am thinking ” What the heck did that lady give me? I thought it was suppose to help me?” So my lesson is learned. Don’t buy expensive products because they are made cheaply and are only expensive because of the fancy names they have.

I bought clinique 3 step, programme and within a week of using, my skin became very dry and is covered in a terrible rash which is so itchy its almost unbearable. To add insult to injury they sold me a clarifying lotion which was a demo bottle, which i only noticed when i bought the products back for a refund. Ive always had a lovely complexion, i used 3 step prior and no bad result but using it again this time has left my face hideous, ive had two visits to the doctors, on the second, after my face has become worse, hes given me eumovate, antibiotics and antihistamines, its sad that so many people are suffering after using clinique products. I just hope that one day my skin will get back to normal. Ive been diagnosed with contact dermatities.

My skin has FINALLY went back to normal after an awful week at school. The second doctor visit I had the Dr told me to use only Neutrogena and Almay because they are hypoallergenic. My skin is still flakey but I am now allowed to use make-up and I had just found out i chemically burned my skin. I used Ponds lotion to get my skin back to normal and my acne is now gone!

Hi - I have been using the Clinique 3 step (No 2) for the last six months - no problem. Recently however, my eyes have been swollen and the skin on my eyelids flaky and red. Contact dermatitis. I have TOTALLY stopped using the product - shame because it has cost me alot of money as I have “stocked up”. I will start using Cetaphil or similar. What a con job and an absolute waste of money !

Hello ladies
Up until a month ago I had only ever used baby soap or wipes on my skin to clean it and Nivea classic thick cream to moisturise. I’d never had problem breakouts and had often been complimented on my skin.
That was until I decided to speak to a Clinique rep in my local Boots.
Before Christmas I had a fire in my house and a combination of soot irritating my face, stress and not looking after my skin properly took it’s toll and my skin looked dull and I was suffering from a slight redness on my cheeks.
I spoke to the Clinique rep who suggested the anti redness soothing cleanser, the mild clarifying lotion and the anti redness mineral powder.
I didn’t get on with the minderal power from day one. It ended up all over my clothes and floor and didn’t really cover any redness too well. I took it back after a week and got a refund.
I seemed to be getting on okay with the other products. Until two weeks ago. All of a sudden on waking it felt and looked like my skin was made of old paper.
It was worse than before and any lines were really pronounced. As the week went on my face got more and more painfull and I developed breakouts all over my face. I have never suffered with breakouts before. The worst I had even as a teenager was one spot every 2 months. As I said before I’d even been complimented on my skin and the fact I looked younger than my years.
Now at 34, I was suffering from horrible spots, dry dull lifeless skin that had lost it’s tone.
And in the space of a few weeks - pronounced wrinkles.
My hands also started to get sore and red (i am assuming this was from applying the cleanser). I have also noticed that my eyes have been looking bloodshot.
The last few days I have been using a mild Clarins cleansing wash on my face (a sample I had been given and never used) followed by some blue orchid oil for dehydrated skin (again - a sample) and covering that with tonnes of Boots skin therapy cream.
It has to be re applied after 3 hours or so but it seems to be the only combo that keeps my face from looking grey and flakey. Nothing is stopping the constant pain however. It feels like I have had a skin peel that has gone wrong.
I am taking the other two porducts back tomorrow and hopefully get a refund. If I don’t get a refund, I will kick up an almighty fuss and make sure other people know why I am there.
I will never, ever use Clinique products again.
