Beauty wonders and horrors. Place to share your experience.
Spring is almost here and it is just about the right time to have a glance at what our hair will look like in 2008. Most of my model friends have already had their hair experimented with for the different shows this season (nope, I am keeping my long waves). I will not continue on this painful topic of hair experiments for the shows, as it will be just way too painful for my readers and for my girls. Just believe me on this one, there are designers that don’t care how your hair will look like after the show is done and if it will suit you at all. Nope, their job is to make a trend.
As we are getting closer to the topic, I am warning you, I will NOT discuss here those “trendy” haircuts that make girls look like homeless creatures who have fun sticking their fingers in the socket. Even though some fashion magazines think those could be “the hottest hair hits”.Ok, let’s see what haircuts, styles and colors are worth a consideration in our highly fashionable everyday life!
Spring 2008 hair cuts
The bob… is not going anywhere. It is so popular, both models and celebrities went for this cut.

The fringe. Blunt cut fringe remains the most popular way to wear this hair trend. Depending on the cut the fringe is able to make your face look sweet or edgy.

The crop. This spring hair trend can scream independence, but it can also be translated to young and funky, or sharp and elegant depending on how it is worn. Looks like these short crops are best matched with blond hair color and plenty of attitude. Dare to go for it?

Spring 2008 hair styles
This springs best hairstyles and colors are greatly matched on the pictures below. Natural healthy hear is your most expensive accessory.
I will not limit you, girls with hairstyles here. The below trends are great for this spring. They are soft and feminine:
Don’t forget that edgy look with great self-confidence and the right attitude:
This spring is so right for the girly hairstyle. Light, natural and inspired:
There is a rule of feminists– I don’t remember the season when we went for the girly style and didn’t go for the boyish hair. Only this season we don’t say boys, we say MAN! Striving for masculinity!
Ukrainian “iron-lady” Yulia Tymoshenko, the vice president of the country didn’t strive for masculinity in her look, but got the greatest political power in the country. It was only the matter of time when her unique hairstyle would be picked up by the fashion designers. So, here is the feminine look with the secret power.
This idea doesn’t look new, but it will look innovative, active and fresh on you. Try braiding your hair to the microbraids. It is going to be huge this season!
Spring 2008 hottest hair colors
No mysteries. The rule for this spring hair colors is simple– it is either natural like dark blonde, light brown and dark brown, or bright colors like pink and purple. This spring will we be dying our hair only to bright, vivid colors. So here are the colors you should be sporting in 2008.

Spring is coming! Let’s be gorgeous!
P.S. Melissa, I think this longer bob could look great. I would add two pink streaks if your hair is dark like on the last picture.![]()
P.P.S Hey Sille, this hairstyle could suit you. This is the summer look that is very easy to achieve. Carry looked great wearing it too:)
And this is how this hairstyle looked on me, on the longer hair…![]()

I like the hair color on the very last girl but are the pink streaks all over or just right there on the front?

Choosing the right hairstyle has never been easy for me either. I have long blond hair that I can wear curly or straight. And I am not brave enough to cut it off just yet. Deciding on the hairstyle for somebody when you haven’t seen what she looks like is even harder:). But from what you said I think I can just guess that you might like a bob on the longer hair (past your shoulders). I have added a picture at the very end of my post especially for you. I don’t know what color is your hair, but I think this haircut would look great both on blond and dark hair. I also think that getting pink streaks (like on the picture that you liked) with this haircut would look absolutely fabulous! Hope this helps!

Thank goodness for The Bob. And I love your advice - there’s no need to follow trends that make us look electrocuted. But I going to go for dark, vivid red. Just love it. Great blog!

Great site! I have very long very fine hair (due to giving birth I think) that is also showing signs of some balding behind my ears and on top. I am wearing long hair(down past bra strap) for the first time in my life(33 years) and am dismayed at all this hair loss. I want to keep my long locks, I’m afrade that short or bobbed styles will show my problem worse. I loved all of your pictures and will be trying a blunt bang first to see how the “short” thing will work for me. If you have any ideas why my hair is falling out so bad and why I am not growing any back(bald spots) I would love to hear it. Keep up this great site! Tnks.

Thank you, Sarah! I am in no way an expert in this issue, but I have noticed that many models have thin hair due to the diets. I think most women face the problem after they give birth, as you share all the vitamins and minerals with the child for 9 months. It is stressful for your body. Also, all women notice hair loss about 3 months after they’ve had a baby. This loss is also related to hormones. During pregnancy, high levels of certain hormones cause the body to keep hair that would normally fall out. When the hormones return to pre-pregnancy levels, that hair falls out and the normal cycle of growth and loss starts again.
The first thing I would do would be getting some vitamins to help your body (you know the ones for hair and nails, they are widely available). Another great thing for strong healthy hair came from our childhood, try drinking milk with some bread (not white one). Healthy food goes even without saying, right? Fruits and vegs are our best friends always and forever:) Amen!
Cutting your hair a little shorter can also help, because it is easier for your body to maintain it. Although, don’t cut it too short, as it will appear thinner than it is.
Put away your blow dryer for sometime, and try air drying your hair instead. If you can’t live without your blow dryer, try using it on a low heat setting. Style your hair when it is almost dry. Styling your hair while it’s wet can cause it to stretch and break.
I hope this will help. Give your hair some time, I am sure it will be back to normal very soon:)

Hello,
I know how Sarah feels, I had long (over the shoulder) hair for the first time in my life (32). But then along came Victoria Beckhams Bob and I was 7 Month Pregnant , so down came the hair…. but now that our daughter is there it doesnt grow as fast anymore, has gone really thin, greasy at the roots and Curly!!! I couldnt belive it when my hairdresser told me that Ive got waves, which unfortunatly only lasted for a couple of hours. Also Ive developed a itchy Dermatitis on my head which make me mad sometimes. Im now after a new cut for my chin length blonde hair. Which should be easy to maintain (not much time in the morning to fuss around) sexy and versetaile… Sorry, alot to ask for…. I know but Im so unsure…. as i still like my longer hair (but end up in a Ponytail constantly) Thanks alot for any ideas.
Keep up the great side,
Sille

Hey Sille,
Like I said, it looks like everybody’s hair goes through some stress after you give birth! Blond hair is a way to go if your hair gets thin, as blond looks great even on the thinnest hair. People would not see the roots showing through even if your hair is showing some signs of balding… unlike with darker colors.
“end up in a Ponytail constantly” –that made me smile:) You know most models wear ponytails for everyday. It just says we are sooo lazy:) But it’s ok, I guess. anyway same with me. I wish my ears didn’t stick out though:)
Hair style! It’s kinda hard to guess what you look like, but I’ll just show you something I thought would look cute for the summer. See the last pictures at the post above, specially for you;) The good thing about it is if your hair curls just a little bit (like you said your hairdresser noticed) you WON’T have to style it with any heating. Just use your blow-dryer on the “cold”. Or let it air dry a little and instead of blow-drying try braiding your hair when it’s wet. You will achieve cute curls or waves. Plus, your hair will appreciate no heating for a while:)

SJP
LOL
I really do like her style, I tryed to achive that a couple of years ago with curls when Sex in the City was on German telly…. but looked like an exploded Vileda Sweeping brush!!! ;o) Maybe it works this time and I can get up in the morning looking “normal” and not like Ive overslept when Im doing the school run….
My friend suggested Victorias POB with the shorter back and longer front as I used to have really short hair but never in blonde. I never thought its so hard to find a cut…. But maybe I leave it up to my German Hairdresser who used to work for Catwalk shows… Im scared.
Thanks alot anyway for your help, as it is hard to suggest something to somebody you dont know.
Sille
By the way used some other tips from your sides and passed them on….. also got you on Homepage tab!!!

I was able to achieve that curly look (on a longer hair) with a little styling foam you put in palms and kinda crumple in your hair while it’s still a little wet. I used a blow-dryer with a diffusor too (or just hands). Really worked for me. I’ll add a pic of me with this hairstyle a little later, gotta run to buy the shoes that I was fantasizing about all night long;)

im going to the salon sat. to get my hair colored and cut. but i am not sure what i want to do… i was thinking about the two tone thing is that in this year???

Alycya, I think two tones are very practical and will be in for quite a long time. Two tones give you visually more volume and make the texture look very nice. I personally like it.

hey! i want to change my hairstyle but it is really difficult cuz my hair is curly (my lenght now is long and i don’t like irt short)… i like it but i live in a really humid place and that causes me some frizz problems so i wanna know which cut will look good on me and reduce the volume of my hair… thnks
xoxo

Andie, that’s a hard one:)
I really know what you are saying. I have worked in Florida for several months and I couldn’t keep my hair (that tends to frizz like crazy) together… I used Tigi Fashionista that helps with that a lot (you can see my post about it) and found that it’s easier to deal with my hair if I cut it in the straight line at the ends (no layers) like on the first picture in the “Spring 2008 hair styles” part of the post. My hair looked very healthy and the volume was nice. The frizz is most noticable at the ends of your hair, esp if it’s damaged, so layers will only highlight the problem.

Hiya,
finally I got my new haircut!!! Still need a bit time to get used to it after cutting my shoulder length asymetric bob, to a straight cut chin length bob. Also my hairdresser added some comed in highlights which look naturall, as I cant have foil highlights due to a Dermatitis on my head! But the best is….. I have developed proper curls…. so here SJP I come…. I even bought a sexy Summer dress and matching shoes (No Manolos) to surprise my Hubby when he comes back from a 5 Month tour of Duty :o)
So its going to be a great surprise as this Haircut made me feel Sexy again!!! I can only recomend it… if you feel unhappy in yourself - Change just a little something and you feel like New!

right now my hair is dark auburn with 10 crimson red streaks throughout (including the bangs). i want to dye my hair back to its natural color (dark brown) and have the crimson on the topmost, shortest layer (it will look awesome with a side part), but i’ve heard that the only way to do this would be to bleach my entire head. could i just dye my hair blonde, then put the dye on?

Maggie, I’d love to help you, but I am not an expert in dying hair, so I’m affraid to suggest you the way of doing it. Talk to different hairdressers to see if they tell you the same thing. But I think your idea is great!

get your hand and squirt the blond on it and rub it on your bangs and get a comb and brush it threw and that gives it the streakes without using your roots
